5* hotel De L’Europe Amsterdam is located in the heart of Amsterdam, on the Amstel river. This 19th century building became an official monument in 2001 and is the embodiment of elegance, opulence and luxury.
RedStone was the preferred natural stone supplier for the last two renovations – in 2010 under supervision of world renowned architect Cees Dam and in 2020 with design agency Bureau Nicemakers. In the first phase (2010), 84 rooms were upgraded with classic Carrara marble en-suite bathrooms, from floor to wall panels to vanity tops. The public restrooms and staircase were included in this prestigious project.
Ten years later, Bureau Nicemakers signed for the renovation of the lobby, restaurant, trattoria and library, and RedStone was proud to become the dedicated natural stone supplier once again. Our experience from a decade before turned out to be an invaluable asset. Phenomenal stone elements such as Kolonaki Verde portals enhance the grandeur of this summit of luxury and style.
All marble in De L’Europe is honeycomb marble. RedStone created this specially constructed thin layer of marble on a honeycomb aluminum frame to decrease the net weight of the marble. A must for ancient venues with wooden piling-foundations to prevent foundation subsidence due to sinking.
